  ANNIVERSARY MASS
will be celebrated on the last Sunday of every other month in the intention of the couples celebrating their anniversary of marriage. The next anniversary Masses will be on: Aug. 28, Oct. 30, Dec. 25. Information at the parish office.
 
  CONTEST K.S.M (Catholic Youth Studio)
for the best song dedicated to John Paul II. Rules: 1) The length of the song cannot exceed 5 min. and must be copied on a CD and sent to KSM on 183 Roncesvalles Ave., Toronto, ON M6R 2L5 by August 31st 2005. The song will be judged on music, text and style. The winner will be chosen by a voting procedure on the following websites www.ksmradio.com or www.catholicradio.ca. The songs can be heard on the above mentioned websites where listeners from all over the world can vote for their favourite. Voting will take place from 1-7 September 2005. First Place-performance alongside the Symphony Orchestra during the JPII Legacy Concert in the Roy Thomson Hall on 22nd of October 2005. FIRST COMMUNION & CONFIRMATION SIGN-UPS - for children and youth from Public and Catholic schools will take place on the 13th and 20th of September from 6-8 p.m. in the Parish hall. First Holy Communion dates in 2006 are: Tuesday group in English- Saturday, May 13th 2006 at 5 p.m., Tuesday group in Polish- Sunday, May 14th 2006 at 2:30 p.m., Saturday group in Polish- Saturday, May 20th 2006 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, May 21st 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Confirmation for youth will be on Saturday, April 29th at 5 p.m.

GOOD SHEPHERD PROGRAM - is organizing 2 groups of children from 3-4 years old & 4-6 years old. The first group will meet on Mondays from 10:30-11:30a.m. and the second group from 11:30 -12:30p.m. The second group will consist of the children who were in the program last year. HOLY ROSARY FAMILY- invites parishioners to join the procession to the Rosary Garden on August 13th after the evening Mass.
 
PARISH FEAST OF ST. MAXIMILIAN KOLBE- on August 21st there will be a procession following the 11:00 a.m. Mass after which we invite everyone to a picnic in the rosary garden.

PILGRIMAGE TO MIDLAND: 8th-14th of August.
Sign-ups for the XXIII Walking Pilgrimage to the Canadian Martyrs Shrine in Midland will be held on the 17th & 24th of July in the parish hall after every Mass. OHIP numbers required. Cost is $60/person or $10/person/day. Pilgrims please bring: tent-sleeping bag-mattress or mat, gas bottle, utensils, water bottle, cotton socks, shirts with sleeves, mosquito repellant, first aid kit, washroom supplies (i.e. toilet paper), sunscreen, comfortable (not new) shoes, raincoat and hat. The program is as follows: 9 am- chance to go to confession, 10:30 am- Rosary, 11:15 am- entry of 23rd walking pilgrimage, 11:30 am- Holy Mass, 3pm- Eucharistic Celebration. Those who wish to go to Midland by bus on the 14th of August can sign up in the parish hall after every Mass until 3pm. Cost is $40. Departure time is 7:30am. POPE’S GALA CONCERT – will take place in the Royal Thomson Hall on 22.X.2005 - on the 27th anniversary of electing Cardinal Karol Wojtyla for a Pope, as a Thanksgiving for John Paul II for His unshaken testimony of faith is being organized by Catholic Youth Studio.
 
RENOVATION OF ALTAR. The Confederation of Polish Priests would like to inform everyone regarding their decision to renovate the Polish altar at the Canadian Martyr’s Shrine in Midland where a mosaic portraying Our Lady of Czestochowa will be installed. The cost of the installation will exceed $10, 000. Offerings can be made through the Credit Union to the account MIDLAND or by cheque to the following address; Confederation of Polish Priests; 71 Indian Trail, Toronto Ontario, M6R 2A1.
 
RETREAT – AUGUST PRECHED RETREAT, August 19-23 - Queen of Apostles Renewal Centre, Mississauga, is offering this retreat which is open to priests, religious, and lay men and women. To learn the proper attitude toward the mystery of our faith, please listen to the next Rosary Hour program, which will coincide with the novena to St. Maximilian. ANNIVERSARY MASS. On August 14th 2005 following the Midland ceremonies, Mass will be held in our Parish at 11:00 p.m. in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome.

ST. MAXIMILIAN KOLBE- FEAST DAY AUGUST 14TH Born on January 7, 1894 in Zdunska Wola, Poland, died in August 1941 by lethal carbonic acid injection after starvation in Auschwitz. Suffered from tuberculosis in youth, and frail in health all his life. Franciscan. Doctor of Theology. Founded the Immaculate Movement, and published the magazine The Knight of the Immaculate. Priest. Imprisoned in Auschwitz for his anti-Nazi publications. Ministered to other prisoners, including conducting Mass and delivering communion using smuggled bread and wine. Traded places with a young married man who was to be slaughtered in retribution for an escaped prisoner.
